Last updated April 27, 2026
CSV import is the fastest way to add a lot of locations at once. Maptera reads a standard spreadsheet, geocodes each address, and creates the matching store records automatically.

Your CSV must include these column headers (exact names matter):

| address | Yes | Street number and name |
| city | Yes | City |
| state | Yes | State, province, or region |
| postal_code | Yes | ZIP or postal code |
| country | Yes | Two-letter country code (US, CA, GB, etc.) |
| phone | No | Optional contact number |
| No | Optional contact email | |
| website | No | Optional URL to the store page |
| category | No | Comma-separated tags (e.g. "retail,outlet") |

Common gotchas
If you see "Failed to geocode" errors, the most common causes are missing country codes, addresses with PO boxes, and very rural locations Google does not have data for.
