How to install, step by step
From zero to a live locator in about ten minutes.
Open the Maptera app listing
From the Shopify App Store (or the Apps section of your Shopify admin), search for “Maptera Store Locator” and click Add app. You’ll be asked to approve the app for your store.
Approve the read_locations scope
Maptera requests read access to your store locations so it can keep your map in sync. Approving installs the app and connects it to your Shopify account—no manual CSV uploads required.
Your locations sync automatically
On install, Maptera imports every location configured in Shopify (Settings → Locations) and geocodes them. New or edited locations stay in sync, so the map always reflects your real footprint.
Customize your locator
Inside the Maptera app—embedded directly in Shopify admin—set your brand colors, choose a layout (sidebar, full map, or list), and toggle features like search, filters, hours, call, and directions buttons.
Add the locator to your storefront
Use the Maptera theme app block to drop the locator onto any page in your Online Store 2.0 theme via the theme editor—no code. Prefer a dedicated page? Add a Store Locator page and place the block there.
Publish and test
Preview the page, search a ZIP code, and confirm distances and directions look right. When you’re happy, publish your theme and your store locator is live for shoppers.

Do I have to write any code to install on Shopify?
No. Maptera installs as a Shopify app and adds a theme app block you place with the theme editor. Everything—syncing, styling, and embedding—happens without touching theme code.
How do my locations get into Maptera?
When you approve the read_locations scope, Maptera reads the locations you’ve already set up in Shopify and imports them automatically. Update a location in Shopify and it flows through to your locator.
Where do I manage settings?
The Maptera app is embedded inside your Shopify admin. Open it from the Apps menu to manage stores, branding, layout, and feature toggles without leaving Shopify.
Can I remove the “Powered by Maptera” branding?
Yes—branding removal is included on the Pro and Enterprise plans. The Free plan keeps a small attribution link.
