Organize stores with categories and tags

Group your locations so customers can filter the map by type.

Last updated April 27, 2026

Categories let visitors filter the map to just the stores they care about — for example, "Outlet" vs. "Showroom" vs. "Service Center".

Creating categories

  1. 1
    Open Stores → Categories
The Categories tab lives next to your store list. It shows every category you have defined plus how many stores use each.
  2. 2
    Add a new category
Click "Add Category" and give it a name. You can optionally set a custom marker color so each category appears differently on the map.
  3. 3
    Assign stores
Edit any store and pick one or more categories from the dropdown. A single store can belong to multiple categories.

Using categories on the public widget

When you embed the widget with filters enabled, every category becomes a filter chip at the top of the map. Visitors tap a chip to narrow the map to just those locations.

Keep your category list short — 3 to 7 is the sweet spot. Too many filters becomes noisy and hurts conversion.
