Switch between Google Maps and Mapbox

Choose the map provider that best fits your design and pricing needs.

Last updated April 27, 2026

Maptera supports both Google Maps and Mapbox as map providers. Both are included — no separate API key needed on your side.

When to use Google Maps

  • Customers expect a familiar look (Google is by far the most recognized map UI)
  • You need Google Street View integration
  • Local search results matter (Google generally has the most accurate POI data)

When to use Mapbox

  • You want a more modern, customizable visual style
  • You want vector-based smooth zoom on mobile
  • You prefer a non-Google brand on your site

How to switch

On the Embed page, find the Map Provider dropdown and pick either option. The widget redraws with the new provider; nothing else needs to change.
